Meet the Team

Careers Coordinator  – Mary Cunningham

The Careers and employability team can be contacted at careers@solihullsfc.ac.uk and is located within the Careers Area of the Learning Resource Centre (LRC).

Careers Leader – Assistant Principal Trevor Irving

The team deliver individual advice and guidance to students via 1-1 guidance, specialist workshops, CV support, university applications support and maintain and develop links with employers and higher education institutions. A member of the teaching staff leads on careers and employability related curriculum initiatives. Every BTEC student will follow a work experience programme and support is available to A level students in finding placements through links with employers and voluntary organisations.

Enrichment

The SSFC Careers Team deliver two distinct enrichments for the Year 12’s and Year 13’s. The Roadmap to employability/ apprenticeships is led and presented weekly by a careers team member in the winter term solely for Year 13’s who are considering not attending university after completing their post-18 education. The work experience enrichment takes place in the Spring Term exclusively for Year 12’s who want to take some time out to learn more about career options interest them and equally, do not.

STEM – Science, Technology, Engineering and Maths careers with a focus on encouraging girls into these careers.
