We offer a Bursary Fund and Free Meals to help eligible students with study-related costs. This support is aimed at students aged 19 or under on 31st August 2024, with a household income below £40,000 per year.
The bursary can help with expenses such as meals, a bus pass, and for some students, learning materials, IT equipment, trips, DBS checks and more.

To help you settle into college, eligible students may receive a bursary starter pack during their first week, which includes a bus pass, meal support, and essential stationery.

It could pay for Meals, Buss Passes, Learning Materials, IT Equipment, Trips & Visit, DBS Checks

Do you meet the criteria?

  • Aged 19 or under on 31st August
  • Total houshold income up to £40k per year.
  • 95% or above attendance & punctuality
  • No behaviour concerns
 

Free Meals
The government also provides support for a meal a day for eligible students when they are in College. Eligibility is assessed alongside the Bursary as a combined application and is based on the student or their parent/guardian being in receipt of one or more particular benefits. All students are given information on how to apply for Free Meals and the Bursary in their enrolment booklet.

Through the Summit Base Camp initiative, we also provide additional support such as:
  • A warm, safe space
  • Breakfast (toast) from 8:30 am
  • A food pantry, hygiene and health care products
  • Free Wi-Fi, charging points, and mobile data SIM cards
  • Cultural experiences and help with trip costs
