Making your choices for university probably seems a long way away right now, but if you are considering applying to Oxford or Cambridge the sooner you are aware of the opportunities available, the better!
The sort of student who is successful in their application to Oxford or Cambridge:
- usually has a strong GCSE profile – 7s, 8s, and 9s
- is usually studying A levels, rather than a BTEC or mixed programme
- is well-organised and academically curious
- has excellent attendance and punctuality
- participates actively in class, making contributions and asking questions
- has a genuine passion for the subjects they are studying and are keen to go beyond the A Level curriculum
- seeks out opportunities to learn more
- may be doing an EPQ or another enrichment related to the course they want to pursue
